Ms. Lesmond is the Immediate Past President of the Registered Nurses’
Association of Ontario (RNAO) and Past President of the International Nurses Interest Group of the RNAO.
Ms. Lesmond is currently Executive Director, Community Engagement of Saint Elizabeth Health Care. Saint
Elizabeth is a not-for-profit charitable organization that has been dedicated to delivering the highest caliber of health
care in the home and community since 1908. As the former Chief Nursing Executive and Director of Professional Practice
at Casey House Hospice in Toronto, Ms. Lesmond was responsible for ensuring consistent high quality care and service delivery
as well as effective management and professional practice across community and institutional settings at the HIV/AIDS treatment
hospice. Further experience includes positions with several provincial associations. Ms. Lesmond is on the faculty of
Ryerson Polytechnic University, instructing Baccalaureate Nursing Students in Community Health.
Ms. Lesmond
holds a Master’s of Science in Community Health Nursing from D’Youville College in Buffalo, a Bachelor’s
of Science in Nursing from Ryerson Polytechnic University and is currently enrolled in a Doctoral program in Health Policy
and Health Education at D’Youville College.
